Manbites Dog Theater
Manbites Dog Theater, a professional non-profit theater company founded in Durham in October 1987, serves the Triangle area of central North Carolina. Manbites Dog’s purpose is to produce new and challenging theatrical events; showcase and nurture developing playwrights, directors, actors, and artists; facilitate cross-disciplinary and cross-community projects; and help strengthen this region’s theatrical community. Manbites productions often include shows with diverse casts and themes. Past performances include Best of Enemies and I Love My Hair When It Is Good: And Then Again When It Looks Defiant and Impressive.

PlayMakers is the professional theatre in residence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. PlayMakers has been called “one of America’s leading theatre companies” (American Theatre), the “Best Live Theater Company in the Triangle” (The Independent Weekly) and “what ‘professional theatre’ truly means” (The News & Observer). The Justice Theater Project
The mission of The Justice Theater Project is to use the performing arts as a way to call to the fore of public attention the needs of the poor, the marginalized, and the oppressed. This organization presents diverse casts and shows. Past performances include Ragtime, Fences and Homes. The Justice Theater Project also has an annual production of Black Nativity.
